PALM DEIRA

The final part of Nakheel's Palm Trilogy (also including Palm Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali), Palm Deira is destined to be the largest man-made island in the world and a city for more than 1.3 million people. The development will include all the amenities of a modern city, including residential, commercial, retail and leisure properties, public services and utilities.

Palm Deira will comprise nine interlinked areas.
Islands of the Palm itself:

  • Palm Crown
  • Palm Fronds
  • Palm Crescent
  • Palm Trunk

Islands closer to mainland Dubai:

  • Deira Island North
  • Deira Island South
  • Deira Island Central
  • Deira Island Al Mamzar
  • Deira Island Front.

The total area of the development is planned to be 4,275 hectares (42.7 million square metres), with the total volume of sand required to reclaim the two projects being 1.35 billion cubic metres of sand and rock.

The development of Palm Deira will be implemented in specific phases, starting with 'Deira Island Front'. This will be connected by bridges with the current area of Deira, between the mouth of Dubai Creek and Port Hamriya, creating a major new business and residential district that will act as a gateway to the rest of the development.

Palm Deira will revitalise the oldest part of the city and Emirate of Dubai and enhance the value of the area. The master plan has been strategically designed to ensure the project harmonises seamlessly with present-day Deira.

The widening of the Creek in the 1960s was the birth of modern-day Dubai, so it is fitting that the creation of a new city for Dubai, Palm Deira, begins here too.
