The official language of Dubai is Arabic, however you will find that English is also commonly used. Other languages that you may hear include Hindi, Urdu and Farsi. Signs around the city will typically be in Arabic and English.

Dirham is the national currency. On arriving in Dubai, you should expect to find that exchange rates are better in the city than at the airport.

Islam is the official religion and visitors should respect its customs. However, Dubai is very multicultural, dress codes quite relaxed and alcohol is available in designated places.
